Ronan Dunne (@ronandunneo2), Chief Executive Officer of Telefónica UK (O2) and member of the Telefónica SA Executive Committee, will discuss this year’s Global Millennial Survey at One Young World in Dublin, Ireland in front of 1,300 Millennial leaders from 190 countries.

The session itself will be streamed LIVE via the GMS homepage on Thursday, 16th October at 13:45pm (IST).

The annual Millennial summit, which takes place between 15-18 October, is the second largest gathering of nations on earth, second only to the Olympic Games. After delivering the latest findings from the world’s largest and most comprehensive Millennial survey, Ronan will then be joined on stage by four ex Latin American presidents to deliver a special session on the continent.

Commonly described by previous Telefonica Ambassadors as a ‘life-changing experience’, #OYW gathers young leaders from over 190 nations to debate and agree on actions they believe are necessary for the good of society. Telefonica have been involved in the event since its inauguration five years ago.

Ronan Dunne, who was born and raised in the host city of Dublin, will be joined by OYW Counsellors and luminaries such as Archbishop Emeritus Desmond Tutu, Sir Bob Geldof, Professor Muhammad Yunus, Jamie Oliver, Richard Branson and President Bill Clinton as they help guide delegates during the summit through inspirational plenary and breakout sessions.

Speaking to Think Big recently, Ronan explained why he feels passionately about Telefonica’s involvement in #OYW and the opportunity of activating true leadership in Telefonica’s young workforce as well as realising the digital opportunities on offer:

‘We have a huge ambition in Telefonica to transform ourselves into the leading digital telecommunications company – to Be More. The way we will do that is by embracing the appetite of our digital natives; those young millennials who understand how technology can increase the possibilities to drive change.

‘With that in mind, I’m delighted that this year’s event is taking place in Dublin not just because it’s my town but also because it’s a booming tech city with startups opening offices along side the world’s tech giants.’

A 50-strong delegation made up of those from the business, Talentum, Wayra, Think Big and Pronino will be attending representing nine countries in total, a truly global cohort. Wayra, Telefonica’s digital accelerator, will host a special breakout session during the summit and Telefonica’s own #OYW Ambassador will also welcome Pedro Padierna, President of Pepsi Co. Mexico, entrepreneur Chema Alonso, CEO of Eleven Paths, a Telefónica company; and Dennis Bree, Head of Sales for UK & Ireland at Twitter, for a breakout session on how delegates can adopt and enable entrepreneurial (“intrapreneurial”) behaviour in big business.
